Drawing dancers from the net

Below are some drawings from 2018. I wanted to draw the movement of a dancer, but not having a chance to draw a real dancer in a studio I resorted to drawing from videos on the internet.

I tried to capture the flow and energy of the movement whilst also capturing the form of the body through quick gestural marks.

I also made some more drawings I made around the city which I posted on chrisfraserart.com

Leftovers!

Leftovers large

This one is made up of leftover sketches from the Inktober sessions last year. I liked some of the characters, so I thought it was a shame not to give them their own scene.

I used a Sakura fine brush pen which was great fun to draw with and adds a new depth to the line work.

This follows on from an earlier drawing. The guy with the parachute has now landed in this crazy manic restaurant. Outside the windows you can see the city and transport vehicles; there is also a big delivery of watermelons for the watermelon gobbler. In this city there doesn’t seem to be much difference between the inside and the outside.
