The devil’s coffee

Damn good coffee!

The devil’s coffee

The devil’s mccoffee

I quite like the black and white versions. The closer it gets to winter in Finland the more pale I get, so there’s no use in colour anyway! I wonder how devils survive in winter?

Mind the Gap

Mind the Gap

Everything is fine. There is no cause for alarm. Please move along steadily. Mind the gap. Enjoy your journey. Move away from the closing doors. Remember to smile. Chin-up. Keep on keeping on.

Leftovers!

Leftovers large

This one is made up of leftover sketches from the Inktober sessions last year. I liked some of the characters, so I thought it was a shame not to give them their own scene.

I used a Sakura fine brush pen which was great fun to draw with and adds a new depth to the line work.

This follows on from an earlier drawing. The guy with the parachute has now landed in this crazy manic restaurant. Outside the windows you can see the city and transport vehicles; there is also a big delivery of watermelons for the watermelon gobbler. In this city there doesn’t seem to be much difference between the inside and the outside.

The Scottish Inventor

After coming back from the Glasgow transport museum last year I was inspired by seeing the wacky Sinclair C5 and other more successful inventions such as the Spectrum home computer from Clive Sinclair. There were so many different old vehicles that were preserved so well it was very inspiring to see the development from then to now.

For fun I started doodling this scientist inventor guy. He’s supposed to be ginger, have tartan trousers and a lab coat full of stuff. I know, I should colour my drawings. I’m not sure of his name yet, but he could possibly be a Fraser 🙂

I started watching ‘Rick and Morty’ this year, so I’m happy that this character doesn’t resemble Rick apart from the lab coat, but I understand if people think I’m inspired by that. I think this guy is trying to find wacky solutions to everyday problems rather than screw with the whole universe. Perhaps Rick is just a bit cooler than a nerdy Scottish scientist, so he’s on the shelf until he can get more funding.

Shop till you drop

A quick reminder about my little society6 shop where you can currently buy prints of my illustration work. I haven’t managed to put any of my fine art work up there yet, but hopefully that’s coming soon.

There’s not much profit to be made on society6 unless I sell hundreds of thousands of prints (which is unlikely!), so any meagre profit I might make can go towards my monthly donation to the WWF in Finland. Anything leftover will be spent on rum. And toilet paper.
