The devil’s coffee

Damn good coffee!

I quite like the black and white versions. The closer it gets to winter in Finland the more pale I get, so there’s no use in colour anyway! I wonder how devils survive in winter?

Devil on the shoulder

Sometimes I have this devil on my shoulder. Sometimes he’s fun and sometimes he’s there just to cause trouble.

A bit of fun and practice with the ipad anyway. It’s very different to traditional drawing for me. I feel a bit inadequate still, but I’ll keep practicing. The devil idea comes from my thoughts about my artistic background. Going to art school is a bit like having a devil on your shoulder for the rest of your life! Plus, I’m sure that eveyone has felt they have a devil on their shoulder about something!

I like this noir version, but I should be smoking!

My pitch to Netflix: ‘A disgruntled full-time working family man who constantly seems at odds with the world around him finds his world getting even more challenging when a little red devil decides to appear at the most awkward times.’ 😆👹

Great inventions. Nos. 10-18.

Here are some more drawings from early this year carrying on the theme of inventing things that people really, really need.

Leftovers!

Leftovers large

This one is made up of leftover sketches from the Inktober sessions last year. I liked some of the characters, so I thought it was a shame not to give them their own scene.

I used a Sakura fine brush pen which was great fun to draw with and adds a new depth to the line work.

This follows on from an earlier drawing. The guy with the parachute has now landed in this crazy manic restaurant. Outside the windows you can see the city and transport vehicles; there is also a big delivery of watermelons for the watermelon gobbler. In this city there doesn’t seem to be much difference between the inside and the outside.
